Chuan Spa treatments and products are guided by the Five Elements theory. This questionnaire will assist you in identifying basic disharmonies amongst the five elements. Together with sensory testing, it will then direct you to the most suitable Chuan product for your treatment.
Wood governs our liver, gall bladder, tendons, ligaments and sense of sight. The emotions it conveys tend to be feelings of depression and anger. You may prefer mornings, spring, wind, sour flavours and the colour green.
Earth governs our spleen, stomach, muscles, mouth, lips and sense of taste. The emotions it conveys tend to be worry and over analysis. You may prefer mornings, late summer, damp, sweet flavours and the colour yellow.
Fire governs our heart, small intestine, tongue, bloodvessels and speech. The emotions it conveys tend to be feelings of joy and over excitement with possible mood swings. You may prefer mid-days, summer, heat, bitter flavours and the colour red.
Metal governs our lungs, large intestine, skin, hair and sense of smell. The emotions it conveys tend to be feelings of sadness and grief. You may prefer nights, autumn, dryness, pungent flavours and the colour white.
Water governs our kidneys, bladder, bones, scalp and sense of hearing. The emotions it conveys tend to be feelings of anxiety and fear. You may prefer afternoons, winter, cold, salty flavours and the colour black.

Before your treatments, we recommend showering to fully enjoy the therapeutic benefits of our wet facilities, such as the pool and sauna.

For increased comfort, gentlemen should shave a few hours before any facial treatments.
Disposable underwear will be provided for your comfort. Please use them for massages and water-based treatments.

To ensure a relaxing environment for all guests, mobile phones are not permitted in any of our treatment rooms and relaxation lounges. In all other areas, please put them on silent.
Chuan Spa and Health Club are only appropriate for guests 18 years and older. Guests between the age of 16-18 may enjoy services with the accompanied supervision of an adult; 18 years or older.
If you enjoyed a massage, we suggest leaving the oils on your skin for up to 2 hours before taking a shower. This is so your skin fully absorbs the oils’ nourishing properties.
For your convenience, an automatic service charge equal to 23.5% of the price of each treatment will be added upon check-out.
NOTE: Gambling, smoking and alcohol consumption within Chuan Spa Health + Wellness, the Health Club and the pool are strictly prohibited. Please also refrain from drinking any alcoholic beverage 3 hours before your treatments.
Our therapists reserve the right to terminate the treatment if they feel the guest’s behaviour is inappropriate.
